How To Identify People With Leadership Abilities

How to identify people with leadership abilities
By Jeff Earlywine

I thought this might help you as you build an incredible staff...

1. Assess ability – Choose team players well, according to how well their strengths and skills fit the goals and tasks of your organization. Ask yourself, “Why does this person want the job? Ambition, a love for this kind of work, a sense of calling, an eagerness to succeed in our organization? Or has this person simply failed in three or four previous jobs?”

Raising The Bar - Yours And Your Staff's
By Jeff Earlywine

One of the most popular events in the Olympics is the pole vault event. We all watch with amazement and anticipation as the competitor runs full speed down the track with a long pole in his hands. Then the jumper hangs on for dear life as he lowers the pole downwards into a hole that propels him high up in the air, high enough to clear the bar just in front of him. The jumper then has a soft landing on his back ready to jump even higher the next time.

Do Staff Meetings Make U
Want 2 Pull UR Hair Out?

I was recently at a client’s staff meeting and at the end of the meeting one of the employees spoke up and said, “We should consider changing these meetings from monthly to quarterly.” He didn’t feel that giving up thirty minutes each month is really worth the benefit. Really? Are you kidding me? Giving up thirty minutes in a thirty day period is too much time?

Success In An Ever Changing World

Well, it’s that time of the year again. No, I don’t mean the time of the year when the flowers bloom and the days get longer. What I am referring to is the sound of roaring engines and the waving of green and checkered flags. That’s right, it’s racing season!

Are You Crushing Your Competition
“Employee Critical Drivers and Performance Bonuses”
By Jeff Earlywine

This is the last in the series on Crushing Your Competition. You may be asking, “Why did he end this series on this topic by discussing employees?” That is a very good question. I have heard it said, and I am a full believer that if you have happy employees you will have happy and satisfied customers. So… how do you get happy employees?

That is the question that drives many business owners and bosses crazy. It is not one that is easy to get a handle on because every employee has different likes/dislikes, tastes, personalities, and backgrounds. So how do you put one thing in place in your business that assures that your staff will be happy and motivated?

Are You Crushing Your Competition By Measuring Your Customer’s Satisfaction

Are You Crushing Your Competition
“Measurements of customer’s satisfaction”
By Jeff Earlywine

Most companies say they believe in great customer service, but few set up a system to insure that they provide it and achieve customer satisfaction. Delivering great customer service takes both understanding what your customers want and a way to see that they receive it.
It’s widely accepted that it is at least five times more profitable to sell to an existing customer than to find a new customer. More important, the difference between satisfied customers and Raving Fan customers can make a big difference in customer repeat business and your profits.

Are You Crushing Your Competition? “Constantly Training Your Team”

Are You Crushing Your Competition?
“Constantly Training Your Team”
By Jeff Earlywine

Continuing to coach you through the thought of “crushing your competition” you must realize that you can’t do it alone – and who would want to. There have been people that have climbed the over 29,000 feet of Mount Everest, and did it all alone. When each of those people got to the top they realized that they have done what most will never even try. They climbed the tallest mountain in the entire world!!! – but they don’t have anyone there to share it with. They don’t have a person there to do the “happy dance” with! All they can do is look around at the wide open space, take a selfie and then walk back down. How disappointing is that?

It works the same way in your business. Why build it alone, why even attempt that? In fact, I would tell you, if could build a business alone it would not be worth it.  The joy in getting to the top (whatever that looks like to you) is celebrating with those that arrived there with you. So…

Are You Crushing Your Competition? “Creating The Right Culture”

Are You Crushing Your Competition?
“Creating The Right Culture”

How do you crush your competition with your culture??? Actually, that is not the right question to ask. Some better questions to ask, that will result in you crushing your competition are:
  • What is the culture like in our business?
  • Is our employee turnover rate extremely low?
  • Is our business such a fun place to work that resumes keep coming in?
If you take the time to study successful businesses around the world you will find at least one common denominator. Yes, they may all sell different products and services, have different visions and missions, and focus on totally different types of customers. But what you will find in all of them is a culture where employees want to come to work, customers love spending money there, and momentum is flowing.

Are You Crushing Your Competition?

Now before you stop reading, hear me out. You know the difference between really good customer service and bad customer service. It is what you want each and every time you go in a store, out to eat or call that toll-free customer service number because the item you bought is damaged. Smart business owners take the idea of customer service to new levels.
