The Fear of Leadership - are you afraid to be the boss???
By Jeff Earlywine Fear. We have all experienced it, and to some degree are controlled by it. How do I know this about you? Think back to when you were a kid. At some point you probably didn’t like to go in dark rooms or walk down dark streets where scary sounds seemed to come with every step. The feeling you felt then will cause you to reach for the light switch today. Or how about when you asked that special person out on a date and he or she all but laughed in your face and said, “Not on your life.” Here are some Facebook features and how to use them for marketing your business:
HOW TO SUCCEED AND FOCUS WITH AN EXTREME SCHEDULE
By Jeff Earlywine When last week started for me I looked at my calendar and found that I only had “3” possible open time slots available. This week’s calendar is much the same. Do you feel my pain? Have you been there? Are you there now? If so, you know the stress that comes with being so busy. This is not the first time I have been that busy. Like you, I am sure, we all have seasons in our lives where we are just swamped with work and activities. This time I did something different. I took a good look at “me”, what I was thinking, doing, eating, and dreaming. Then I made changes that has literally paid huge dividends in my life and business. What I am about to share with you is not rocket science, but it is something we always seem to forget when we say we want to stay focused and work at max productivity. It has been just over two weeks now since something drastic happened to my family. My sister, in the middle of moving from one house to another, had a stroke. I am sure that stress played a factor in this, as you may know moving is stressful. And, the past few months combined have been stressful. Just for example, her husband had a heart attack while they were on vacation in the Philippines.
So… is attitude really that important? It is for my sister right now. Her overwhelming and positive attitude has already resulted in her voice returning to almost normal and she said yesterday that she was able to play some type of sport in therapy where she had to use both arms and legs. Habits, Triggers and Calendars
By Jeff Earlywine You may have never heard of Peter Gollwitzer, a psychologist at New York University. He and Veronika Brand-Starter are known to be pioneers of something called action triggers. “What in the world is an action trigger,” you ask? Action triggers are systems that precipitate action to be taken. As Gollwitzer would explain it, they are simply specific action steps that interrupt people’s normal stream of consciousness. How does this apply to you and me? Ever wonder how they do it? How a short-order cook prepares tasty meals in a hectic, rush-rush environment, and does it all with a smile? The answer is simple: A system (an action trigger). The next time you are in a little diner for lunch purposefully sit in a place where you can see the short-order cook preparing the food. It is like poetry in motion. One event triggers another event to take place. Want To Move Your Business to a Preferred Future???
By Jeff Earlywine Do you REALLY want to move your business to a preferred spot in the future? A place where you call it success? In this short article we will explore in detail what it means to do just that. It will do this by comparing your business with stock car racing. Stock car racing is one of my favorite sports, and has been most of my life. I have spent hours sitting on a hard bleacher watching 43 drivers race at speed exceeding 200mph, and doing it just inches from each other. It is a sport that has evolved from a bunch of moon-shiners showing off their “beefed up” cars to now a multi-million dollar industry full of high-tech computerized equipment. In the middle of all these high-powered engines, fast turns, and million-dollar paychecks are some basic principles to help you develop your preferred future. Below are five of those principles first explained in racing terminology and then made applicable to you. |
